Who Can Be Against Us?
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
Almighty fortress, who has always gone before us in every storm of life and win every battle we face, He is our refuge, and his love endures forever. Today’s scripture is very motivating and affirming. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggle in any life issue, but rather that God is for us.
It doesn’t matter what we are going through now, remembering that God is with us settles all. A careful observer will often notice when a person diagnosed with cancer goes from being a victim to a fighter; when they move from a nightmare to an amusing and joyous state in their lives. This is because God shines in every shadow of death that crosses our path.
Psalm 56:9 says, “Then my enemies will retreat on the day I cry for help. By this, I will know that God is on my side.”
A particular lady I met sometimes ago was being diagnosed with breast cancer; her moment was obvious. She went from tears and disillusionment to living victoriously no matter what challenges she faced. She realized her diagnosis was not a surprise to God but rather something He would use to build her faith. Not only that, but she went from being quiet, in the background person, to share her story at every opportunity.
While we might be caught off-guard and surprised by many of the events of life, God is not surprised by the challenges we face. The difficulties of life are not to defeat us but to grow us in faith. He gives us His Son, who has a name that is above every other name, and that name is JESUS CHRIST. Philippians 2:9 says, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.”
1. Father God, give me the wisdom to see You in all of life’s challenges.
2. 1 Kings 8:57: “May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He never leave us nor forsake us.” in Jesus’ name.
