“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
Who is Jesus? His identity varies, depending on who you ask. To a king, He is the King of Kings; to a prince, He is the Prince of peace. An electrician sees Him as the light of the world, while a plumber refers to Him as the Spring of life. A doctor recognizes Jesus as the greatest physician and a hunter describes Him as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. According to a psychologist, Jesus is the source of wisdom, and for a builder, He is like a house built on solid rock. Lastly, a baker likens Him to the bread of life.
But what about you? Who is Jesus to you? Acts 4:12 tells us that there is no other name through which we can be saved. Likewise, 1 Timothy 2:5 declares that there is only one mediator between God and man – Jesus Christ. So, take a moment to reflect on your own beliefs and experiences. What does Jesus mean to you personally? Is He your Savior and Lord? Have you experienced His transforming power and forgiveness in your life?
Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
