Why Does God’s Way Take Longer?

“All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and testimonies.” Psalm 25:10

We often look for the quickest and easiest way to do things in our fast-paced society. We want instant gratification. This mentality often spills over into our spiritual lives. We want to see God work quickly and easily, with no delays or complications. However, God’s way is often different than what we expect. It may take longer, involves some groundwork, and seems like a slow process. But it is always worth waiting for because God’s way is always right. Psalm 18:30 says, “This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.”

God’s way is always right. He will never leave you nor forsake you; he will not abandon you. There’s a popular saying that goes, “God works in mysterious ways.” In many ways, this is true. God’s ways are often beyond our understanding. But while we may not always understand why things happen the way they do, we can be sure that God has a good reason for everything He does.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Take, for example, the story of Joseph in the Bible. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. But even amid his trials, Joseph trusted in God’s plan for his life. Years later, when Joseph was in a position of power, he was able to forgive his brothers and help them through their trials. This is just one example of how God’s timing is always perfect. His plan for Joseph’s life was much bigger than anything Joseph could have imagined. And the same is true for us. God’s way may seem slow and frustrating at times, but it’s always best for us in the end.

So why does God’s way sometimes take longer? There are a few reasons. First, God wants us to learn patience and faith. He knows that if we rely on Him completely, we can handle anything that comes our way. Second, God’s way is always best for us. He knows what’s best for us, even if we don’t always see it. Third, God’s way is always perfect. He never makes a mistake, and He always has our best interests at heart. No matter what trials we may be facing, we can be sure that God is with us. He has a plan for our lives, and His timing is always perfect. Trust in Him, and let Him guide you through your journey. Amen. Deuteronomy 32:4 says, “God is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He.”

Prayer:
1. Lord, as I praise You now, let every evil door and the ways of the enemies in my life be close now.
2. Psalm 86:11- Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name in Jesus’ name. Amen.
