Winning in life’s course! 4
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
What can you do after exercising faith? First, you must trust God in everything you ask Him to do. But are you trusting God after you pray, fast, and praise? Today’s verse says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Of course, God is not asking you to be quiet, but rather to quit from worries that have been plaguing your heart, your vision, and other activities of life and start living a life of peace. This is the way to live a winning life.
Standing still and trusting God: this is a mental exercise and shows confidence in the God you believe in. This is saying that “God, I am willing to trust you.” Trusting God is not running from a difficult situation but knowing that God is taking control. If you run from a difficult situation, it will be for a while before the situation catches up with you along the way. The battle you don’t stand to face with peace of mind is the battle you will lose. Therefore, don’t let your fear of losing win you over.
2 Chronicles 20:17 says, “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'”
When we are in a tough time, when things seem hopeless or even impossible, remember that God hasa plan for us. He knows what’s best for us and how to help us through it, but we need to trust Him. We must trust God in everything because He has something to say about our situation and wants us to learn from it and grow. There is a lesson from every story of life.
Therefore, will you stop all worries and start learning? When you stop worrying, you will start winning. Your mind will become more focused on your goal, and you’ll have a better chance at achieving it. When you start learning, you will start living your life with purpose. So, I encourage you, as Russell Kelso Carter, the songwriter, said, “to stand on the promises of Christ, my king, through eternal ages, let His praises ring.” 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your anxieties on Jesus, because He cares for you.
Prayer:
1. Give me the grace to stand firm and rest on your Word, Lord.
2. Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope in Jesus’ name. Amen!
