Wisdom-Requisite to Success!
“For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6
Wisdom is the ability to act based on experience, knowledge, understanding, common sense, and insight. There is a wisdom that comes from human experience and studies, but today we are looking at the wisdom that comes from God, which goes beyond human comprehension; the type God gave to King Solomon. This wisdom goes beyond human knowledge and understanding.
God’s wisdom is a complete package for righteous living, discernment, sound judgment, and godly life. God presented Solomon with a blank check when he asked him to request anything. He could have asked for more wealth, riches, honor, or Death for his enemies. Instead, he asked for wisdom to precede over affairs in the domain God has placed him. And his request was granted.
James 1:5 says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for the asking.”
God has placed every one of us in a domain to preside over some affairs. The primary thing we need from God is not money but wisdom to preside over that domain he has kept us. When we seek and get this wisdom, every other thing will follow. For every believer, this wisdom is priceless and worth pursuing because the Bible says: “Wisdom is the principal” (Proverbs 4:7).
The only source of Godly wisdom is God himself. No school or institution teaches Godly wisdom; neither can this wisdom be acquired based on the number of years accumulated here on earth—only the fear of the Lord that brings about this wisdom. The fear of God goes beyond paying lip service to God; it’s beyond going to church; also beyond paying tithe and offering. To fear God means to reverence Him and obey his commandment. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
