Work Define Your Faith.
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, [even] to Horeb. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:, and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed. Exodus 3:1-2
Work is a way of life. It’s not something you do once in a while, but rather something that you do every day. It’s the things that make up your life and how you live it.
“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:23. You work to do better at education, ministry, business, or any career. Work so that you will not look dumb or be categorized as a failure. You work so that you can make your life easier and more enjoyable. Work so that you will have a good time.
I have observed different places in the bible where God had encountered people, and I see that He called most of them while they are at work. The scripture above tells us of how God appeared unto Moses, while he was at work, busy tending the flock. I observed David as well, among all the sons of Jesse, he was found diligent.
David would spend the entire day keeping the sheep and working on the farm; that was where God called him from. In the book of Luke 1:8-11, I read about Zechariah, an angel of God appeared unto him while serving as a priest.
The fact is that God will not give diligent work to a lazy man. And anytime God is calling us to work, know that He’s calling you to bless you. In other words, God blesses a man He finds at work. God doesn’t use a man and dumps him, there’s always a divine work He wants to do in your life, but He will never call you if you are lazy or not ready to work for Him.
Proverbs 10:4 says, “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” Laziness or idleness is simply not harmonious with Godliness. If you sincerely seek and desire to receive counsel and guidance from God, you just have to be diligent, even in your service to Him.
This is God’s prerequisite and essential condition for a divine, special, and unique visitation. Until you can learn to always be at work, you might still be missing His divine visitations. Genesis 2:15 says, “The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
