You are God’s Temple!
“Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
In the Old Testament, God had always lived in the temple. The only place you can meet or talk to Him was the temple, and not even every time you have the privilege and not everyone had the privilege to enter the Holy of Holies. But when Jesus was crucified, God’s presence was not just limited to that particular place. God left the temple in Jerusalem and began to dwell in us.
Initially, the Holy of Holies, the temple, was the only place you could find God’s presence, but the crucifixion of Jesus broke the barrier. Matthew 27:45-51 tells us about the powerful occurrences while Jesus was crucified; the earth was covered with darkness for three hours; the world began to quake, and the rocks started to split. The veil, which was about 4 inches in thickness, tore from the top to the bottom.
1 Peter 2:5 says, “You yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
Ever since then, God’s presence was lost during Adam’s time returned through the Holy Spirit. And the human body now became the dwelling place of God. That’s why every child of God must be conscious of this fact, that My body and your body is the temple of God; God resides in us; what a great privilege to move and live with God and let God dwell in you.
Wherever you are, always know this ‘You are Not Alone.’ Don’t ever think you are alone or no one to support you in decisions making. Remember, His presence gives directions to your part, and if you pay close attention, God still speaks at all times. As a believer, you don’t have any reason to live a defeating life; you have someone greater than the world in you. If God cannot fail, He can’t be in you and watch you fall. Activate this consciousness and be a real living tabernacle. 1 John 4:4 says, “you are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
1. I declare that my spiritual eyes be open, that I may see and feel your presence at all times, Lord.
2. Psalm 141:2 “Let my prayer be set forth before you as incense; and the lifting of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”
