“Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” John 13:7
Sometimes, in life, it’s like trying to put together a big puzzle without seeing the whole picture. It can leave us feeling confused and unsure about why things are happening the way they are. Jesus understands that feeling, and in John 13:7, He reminds us that we may not understand everything at the moment, but eventually, it will all make sense.
Just like learning to ride a bike, there are moments of uncertainty and fear before everything clicks into place. In those times of confusion, it’s important to lean on prayer and seek guidance. Trust that God has a plan and that everything is falling into place for a reason. Jesus is telling us to trust that even if things seem confusing now, eventually, we will understand and see how everything works out for the best.
1 Corinthians 2:14 says, “The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.”
Jesus offers us hope, assuring us that even if we don’t understand everything right now, clarity will come in the future. Just as with a complex puzzle, pieces may not make sense at first, but eventually, they fit together to reveal the whole picture. Of course, learning to ride a bike involves wobbling and uncertainty at first, but with practice and perseverance, balance and confidence develop. Similarly, our struggles and doubts today are paving the way for understanding and wisdom tomorrow.
Therefore, I encourage you to have faith that what seems confusing now will eventually fall into place through God’s grace and guidance. Keep holding on to hope and trusting that all will become clear in due time. When you feel puzzled or frustrated by the circumstances around you, remember that understanding may come later on. Keep praying for clarity and strength as you navigate through uncertain times. In the end, you’ll see how everything fits together perfectly. Psalm 119:18 says, “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.”
Prayer for Today!
Oh Lord, in Jesus’ name, I come before you with a humble heart. Please open my eyes and help me see the wondrous things you are doing behind the scenes. Give me an understanding of your plans and purposes that may be hidden from my sight. Illuminate my spirit with your wisdom so that I can recognize the miracles and blessings unfolding in my life. Grant me the faith to trust in your divine presence in Jesus’ name. Amen.
