Becoming the Best; Sweat is Necessary! Part Two

Becoming the best: Sweat is Necessary! Part Two.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23

To be the best and stay there, sweat is necessary. The key is never giving up and pushing yourself to improve. This was the case for Michael Jordan, one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He was known for his work ethic and dedication to the game, spending hours practicing day after day. The same is true in any field to succeed; you must put in the hard work. And it’s not always easy – sometimes it requires long hours, early mornings, and sacrificing your free time. But it’s worth it when you see the results of your efforts.

As today’s Bible says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” This verse reminds us that we should always give our best effort in everything we do. An old saying goes, “If you don’t put your heart into it, it won’t show in the results.” And that’s so true! If we want to succeed in anything we do, we must give it our all. That’s not to say that we’ll always be successful. But if we don’t give our best effort, we’ll never know what could have been.

Titus 2:7-8 says, “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”

Giving our best effort is a way of showing respect – to ourselves and others. It shows that we care about what we’re doing and are willing to work to see it through. So next time you’re tempted to go through the motions half-heartedly, remember that giving your best effort is always better. You might just surprise yourself with what you’re able to achieve! Remember, the moment you decide you want to be the best is the moment your journey begins. Because “in all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.” (Proverbs 14:23.). In other words, hard work and perseverance will be rewarded in the end.

So don’t be discouraged when putting in the extra effort and not seeing immediate results. Remember that success takes time and dedication. Keep working hard, and eventually, you’ll reap the rewards of your labor, and even if it’s not (which it will), we can at least say we gave it our all. Furthermore, giving our best effort shows others that we are dedicated and passionate about what we’re doing, whether it’s a hobby or a job. Lastly, when we put forth our best effort, we usually end up being deeply pleased with ourselves and our accomplishments without regret. I pray that God will crown your efforts with blessings and praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Thank you, Oh Lord Jesus, for the wonderful blessing you have given me. I am so grateful for your grace and mercy in my life.
2. Lord, grant me the strength to overcome the weakness that hinders my progress in doing my best. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
