Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving! Part Three
“Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” Psalm 107:8-9
A little boy saw that everyone around him was giving thanks and wanted to join in. He didn’t know what they were thanking God for, but he knew it must be good. So the boy bowed his head and thanked God with a grateful heart. When people did ask him what He is joyful for? He replied, “I have God and am thankful for it.” Because with Him, we live, eat, laugh, cry, wake up, poop, and love. The boy little statement might sound funny, but knowing that we have God that is bigger than any problem should always be our great source of Joy.
As the boy replied, “I have God” The question is, do you have God that is bigger than any problem in your life? If so, you can thank Him with a grateful heart because He is always there for you, no matter your situation. He will never leave you nor forsake you. So give thanks to God with a grateful heart, and see how He blesses you in return. A grateful heart is good for the soul. It allows us to see past our current circumstances and thank God for all He has done for us. Focusing on what we are grateful for helps us see His hand at work in our lives – even amid difficulties.
Psalm 95:1-3 says, “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.”
Giving thanks is one way to show God that we believe He exists in our lives. It’s a way of acknowledging His presence and His blessings. When we are thankful, we are happy and humble. A happy and humble heart is a peaceful heart. We can find peace when we let go of our grudges and forgive those who have hurt us. We can also find peace when we thank God for all the blessings He has given us. When we are grateful, it changes our perspective on life. We are no longer focused on what we don’t have but are grateful for what we do have. This changes our attitude and makes us more positive. We start to see the good in everything.
Gratitude is also a form of worship. We are praising God for all He has done for us. It is a way of showing our appreciation. When we are thankful, it also fills us with God’s love. We become more patient, kind, and generous. It is so important to have a grateful heart. It brings happiness, peace, and love into our lives. So let’s thank God for all He has done for us and let His peace rule in our hearts. Give thanks to God today, and watch how He changes your perspective. A grateful heart is a blessed heart. Revelation 11:17 says, “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign.” Amen.
Lord, I acknowledge you for who you are and what you have done in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
