Eyes of Faith: Vision Beyond Circumstances! Part Two

“Looking to Jesus, the founder, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

The eyes of faith can see beyond the present circumstances to a brighter future where hope awaits. This powerful statement is rooted in Hebrews 12:2, which states, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we can find hope by focusing on Jesus and his ultimate sacrifice.

When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we are reminded that he endured unimaginable suffering for us. He willingly went to the cross so that we could have eternal life with him. This act of love gives us hope even when all seems lost. Remember, the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness causes people to see themselves as unworthy of God’s grace. When we are lost in a life filled with pressure, falsehood, selfishness, and sin, we lose sight of God’s love and power for us. But when we have genuine faith in Christ, we can find strength in our weaknesses and see the light in the darkness.

Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Moses sent men to spy on Canaan land to discover the hidden treasure of God’s kingdom before the Israelites entered the land. After spying, all men reported that Canaan land flowed with “milk and honey.” However, all men have different impressions of their worthiness under the same circumstances. Some people see themselves as grasshoppers in their own eyes, while Caleb and others who see opportunity and God’s grace believe they are worthy of God’s protection (Numbers 13:33). Likewise, there is a common misconception among believers who believe in God and his promises. Some people believe that God is bigger than their problem, while others think that the problem is bigger than their God even when they’ve prayed.

Brethren, it does not matter who you are; your impression of your life will determine how you live it. Our profession determines the quality of our possession. Our daily victory is based on our faith. Our hope in God determines how we live our lives. We must not see ourselves as grasshoppers in the desert when obstacles stand between us and our dreams. Instead, we should see ourselves as giants in the field of righteousness with a purpose. There is always a possible answer to every problem when you trust God. Psalm 34:4 says, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”

Prayer:

  1. Oh Lord, increase my faith with your word and enlarge my coast.
  2. Psalm 118:24: This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it in Jesus’ name.
