Leaping Into Uncharted Territories: Destination 2023! Part Two
“Therefore, write down the things you have seen, the things that are, and the things that will happen after this.” Revelation 1:19
“Capture the moments you have seen with pen and paper, for they may never come again.” From part one of this daily devotional, we were told that visualizing our future is where the greatest adventures reside! Because for many, dreaming of our future is a task we take very seriously. Imagining ourselves in the coming years and picturing what our lives might look like is an important step for any individual striving for success. However, after visualizing ourselves in the future and envisioning this desired outcome – for example, in 2023, what next? God said to write it down (Habakkuk 2:2).
The Biblical passage Habakkuk 2:2 states that “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” In this spirit, we should consider writing down all of our ambitions in life and making concrete steps toward achieving them. Then, after visualizing ourselves in the future, we can look at what goals we set out to achieve, why they are important to us, and how each of these goals will contribute to our overall life plan. Writing down ambitions helps define our direction in life; having a written account gives us something tangible to refer back to when trying times arise or opportunities present themselves.
Proverbs 24:3-4 says, “By wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
It also helps with staying motivated; by breaking down big-picture goals into smaller achievable mini steps, we can measure our progress as we move forward with confidence. A written vision and make it plain” are a fitting reminder for anyone who has ever asked why Jesus achieved his plan on earth. It was a written vision that put Him in charge of all his future, from healing sick people to preaching the gospel to performing miracles. As a result, Jesus’ mission was accomplished because it had already been written down by God long ago. Jesus had a detailed plan before He arrived on earth and was able to achieve it.
Brethren, you too can achieve your goals in 2023 if you have faith written God’s plan. Look up what the bible says about God’s plan for you. Be diligent in breaking a long-term goal into smaller manageable tasks or writing actionable steps. Remember, writing down your vision provides clarity of purpose and structure which will be key when taking on any task or project. It also gives a sense of accomplishment knowing that each task completed brings you closer to achieving your overall goal. Above all, don’t be afraid to ask for God’s intervention, and listen carefully to the voice of the Holy Spirit to guide you through the process. Amen. Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days.” Amen.
1. Psalm 143:8; Oh Lord, let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you, I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you, I lift my soul.
2. May the Lord grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans in 2023 and beyond! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
