My Shield is God Most High!

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11

In times of adversity and challenges, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by the weight of our daily struggles. However, the timeless wisdom found in Psalm 7:10 reminds us that God is our ultimate refuge and strength. In other words, My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. When faced with hardship, it is crucial to remember that we are not alone. The psalmist’s declaration acknowledges that God is our protector and defender. His divine presence shields us from harm and preserves us in times of trouble. We can find the courage to face each day’s struggles head-on by placing our trust in Him.

While I was at college in my last year, my younger brother James was in his fourth year in high school. I came home for a holiday during the off-season. While I was at home, James walked into the house with frustration and anger. After showing care and support for James, I asked him what was wrong. He told me about his struggles in his project, and he admitted my strength for help. After our discussion, I helped him overcome that academic struggle, and he was happy.

Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Life is not usually a bed of roses; however, remember, “In the midst of adversity, remember that even the most beautiful flowers bloom from rugged soil.” We must encounter ups and downs as my younger brother James did. In Isaiah 43:2, the scripture says; when you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

You may wonder what I must do to overcome my daily struggle. The answer to your heart’s concern is to tell God about your daily struggles and acknowledge or confess the strength of God in you through Christ Jesus. It simply means you are taking your eyes away from the problem and trusting God to overcome it. This truth is the long-aged principle for overcoming hard times and darkness. You can overcome this by applying similar truths to your life and daily struggle. Amen. Psalm 125:4 says, “Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.” Amen.
