“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”: Ecclesiastes 12:1

The greatest joy in serving God now is not only in what we do but also in the transformation He brings within us through our acts of obedience. Remember, whenever the sun shines, it gives light and provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor jobs. Just as the sun and the rain represent two distinct seasons, so also the youth and old age depict the two seasons available to every human on the earth. The youth of every humankind is characterized by energy and strength; hence we need to channel our energy towards fulfilling our purpose at this stage.

We are His workmanship, expected to do His work of spreading the Gospel throughout the earth, for this is our primary assignment (Ephesians 2:10). However, it is sad to know that some of us feel too young to go out and preach the Gospel of Christ, or we do not take it as a responsibility, forgetting that a time will come when there won’t be enough strength to do so. We must be mindful that the life we live now is not ours; God gave it to us.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

People rarely forget important events in their lives, birthdays, marriage anniversaries, and so on, but often forget about God. Forgetting God can create fatal consequences. Numerous examples in the Bible of nations forgot God and how God, in His anger, dealt with them. Sodom and Gomorrah were one of those nations (Genesis 19:1-29), and only Lot, Abraham’s nephew, was speared. We may think we are enjoying our lives right now by neglecting God and His work, but we must remember that nothing lasts forever. You must give God the best part of your life now and be useful to the kingdom of God.

Remember, serving God is not something we should put off for tomorrow. Today is the day to step out in faith and make a difference in His name. We must embrace each opportunity that comes our way, knowing that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Let us be encouraged by the Gospel and inspired to live each moment fully dedicated to God’s work. So let us seize this day and serve Him wholeheartedly with every breath. May our lives be a shining testimony of His love and grace, drawing others closer to Him. Serve God now, for today is the day of salvation and an opportunity to bring glory to His name. Amen. Psalm 34:15 says, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.” Amen.
