Strategies for Winning Big!

“Do you not know that all the runners run in a race, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.” 1 Corinthians 9:24

Winning big is not a one-time event but rather a marathon race. Just like in a marathon, you must prepare yourself for the long haul to cross the finish line first. This requires perseverance – the ability to keep going even when things get tough. In 1 Corinthians 9:25, we are reminded that only those who run with discipline will win the prize. Remember, perseverance is a mindset that can be learned and practiced. We don’t need to worry or talk about it if it is a matter of luck or chance.

There is something we need to learn to become a better version and stronger, it’s not easy, but with time our minds will change, and we’ll start to see things differently. You may be intimidated by other people’s stories of how they started. Some of the stories in the bible might sound instant and easy like this: “Abraham believed God; he was made righteous.” So easy, right? Well, until you start learning about Abraham before you know what he did and how he wrestled with God’s plan.

Psalm 32:2 says, “Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.”

However, till today Abraham is known as the father of faith. Yet, it took God seven times to tell Abraham the promise before Abraham fully believed it. Now, I’m not saying that you should let your faith be washed away or that you shouldn’t believe in God. But we must learn to overcome our weaknesses and keep going when things seem hopeless. We must learn to trust God and his promises, even if we keep wrestling with what he promised us. It’s okay to say that you don’t know everything about God, but at least you can try to understand and love Him better.

One example of perseverance can be seen in the story of Jesus from Holy week to the day of Resurrection. Despite facing immense challenges and opposition, Jesus remained steadfast in his mission to spread God’s message of love and salvation. He endured betrayal, arrest, torture, and death on the cross before rising again three days later. His unwavering faith and commitment serve as an inspiration for us all. In our own lives, we may face obstacles that sometimes seem insurmountable. However, it is important to remember that with God by our side and a strong sense of purpose driving us forward, we too can overcome any challenge thrown our way. Amen. John 14:1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; also believe in me.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Dear Lord, I pray you to help me learn the ways that please you.
2. Psalm 25:4 “Make me know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.” in Jesus’ name. Amen.
