“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
As believers, our journey toward a deeper understanding of God’s will often begins with surrendering. In this surrender, we learn the importance of letting go of our desires and aligning our will with God’s divine plan. Through the power of prayer, we can find the strength and guidance needed to surrender ourselves completely to His purpose.
In a world filled with distractions and self-centered ambitions, surrendering to God’s will can be a daunting task. Our human nature craves control and longs for autonomy. We often find it difficult to let go of our plans and desires, fearing that surrender will strip us of our individuality or lead us down a path we did not intend to travel. However, it is in surrender that we find true liberation (James 4:10).
The act of surrender requires a humble heart that recognizes its limitations and acknowledges the wisdom and sovereignty of God. It is not a defeat or a resignation but rather a conscious choice to submit ourselves to the divine authority that knows what is best for us. Surrendering means releasing our grip on the steering wheel of our lives and instead wholeheartedly entrusting it to God, believing He will lead us in the right direction. Amen. Hebrews 10:36 says, “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised.” Amen.
