The Audacity of Faith! Part Three
“Everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4
The miraculous Biblical story of Elisha raising the Shunammite woman’s son, we see how great faith can move mountains. Elisha was a prophet of God who had the power to raise the dead. So, when he heard that the Shunammite woman’s son had died, he went with her and raised him from the dead, and the boy’s mother was so overcome with joy and relief that she fell at Elisha s feet and thanked him profusely. This story highlights the power of faith and shows us that even when things seem impossible, faith can still move mountains.
According to the New Testament, faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. The Shunammite woman believed in God that her son would be restored to her despite his death. She laid her son on the bed without announcing him dead to her neighbors, trusting that Elisha would revive her son, and he called him back to life. This is a powerful example of the faith that God can do anything. Now, the question is, are you facing anything that you think is beyond God’s power?
2 Kings 4:36 says, “Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite woman.” So, he called her, and she came. Then Elisha said, “Pick up your son.”
When we face difficult situations, it is easy to lose faith. We may feel like we are going through tough times alone, or God has forgotten about us. The story of the Shunammite woman reminds us that God is always with us and always willing to help us. We just need to have faith in him in our struggles and remember that God is our refuge and strength, and we can count on Him to help us through anything. We must keep our trust in Him, even when we cannot see what is happening.
God is always working for our good, and we can trust Him to bring us through whatever we are going through. God’s miraculous provision for the woman of faith in 2 Kings 4:8-37 is a testimony to the power of faith and God’s faithfulness. Therefore, let this account reminds you that God is always ready to provide for His children and meet their needs, including yours. Consequently, you should never give up on God, no matter how dire your situation may seem. Instead, trust in God’s goodness and power and boldly call on Him in faith. Amen. Matthew 21:22 says, “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.” Amen.
Prayer:
1. I am so grateful for all the blessings that Jesus gave me.
2. Gen. 1:28; LORD, according to Your Word, increase my faith in every area of my life so that I can be fruitful and multiply to contribute to the earth’s goodness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
