The Unshakable Hope! Part Two
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
Many people give up on their dreams and goals. They say to themselves, “I can’t do this,” or “I don’t have the guts.” But what if you didn’t have to be strong? What if you could be courageous enough to take risks and allow something bigger and stronger than your fear, doubt, and obstacles to come into your life? That is having Christ in you. Christ in you is the best formula to create resilience from within. It is an unshakable hope that keeps you going when everything seems hopeless.
Christ in you is the hope of glory. This means His love is eternal, which is why He is the source of our hope for eternal glory. We can be confident in Him because He is faithful and true. Colossians 1:27 tells us, “To them, God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” When we trust in Christ, we receive His righteousness and are clothed in it. We become one with Him and share in His inheritance. We can look forward to spending eternity with Him in heaven because of His great love for us.
Psalm 27:1 says, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Our hope in Christ as a believer is not a wishy-washy optimism but a confident assurance that God is in control. Even in the darkest times, we can hold onto the hope that God will bring good out of evil. This hope gives us the strength to carry on; even when things are tough, Christ brings a hope that transcends our natural understanding of time and space. We glimpse what is to come in Him- a world without sin, pain, or death. This hope gives us the strength to endure whatever life throws our way. Even when we don’t understand what’s happening, we can rest in knowing God is working out His plan for us.
Remember, hope in Christ is not about the past, but rather how you live your life from this moment because anyone who wants to live a successful life at all lives in the future, knowing that their past is irretrievable. Therefore, our only hope for the future is in Christ, who has already overcome death and offers us eternal life. When we trust in Christ, we can be sure that our future is bright, no matter what happens in this life. Acts 17:28 says, “For in Christ, we live and move and have our being, as some of your poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.”
1. Lord, grant me the perseverance to trust you when I am faced with all the odds of the world seemingly turning against me
2. Oh Lord, arise and deliver me from this prison of doubt and fear now in Jesus’ name. Amen.
