Uncovered the Riches of the Gospel!

Uncovering the Riches of the Gospel!

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19

The riches of the gospel are sometimes hard to uncover, but they can be done with effort and intentionality. The process of rediscovering the gospel is often called “moving it forward.” This involves looking into scripture, engaging in meaningful conversations about faith, and contemplating its truths. When we move the gospel forward and share it with others, we can uncover its deeper meaning. By listening carefully and intentionally explaining our beliefs in simple terms, we can help others become engaged in exploring their faith more deeply.

By taking time to explain the basics of Christianity and sharing stories from our faith journeys, we aid in bringing new life into those around us who may not have experienced God’s love before. Remember, The gospel is a never-ending journey, and we can keep rediscovering its truths as we share it with -believers or even fellow believers who may have differing levels of scripture knowledge. For example, I remember the story of a young man I knew when I entered a boutique to get some stuff some years back. While checking a particular cloth I love, the young man was around the scene to comment on the fabric and tell me how nice it would look on me.

Matthew 28:20 says, “Teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen”

Some weeks later, after I left the store, I saw this same person on the street, so I met him formally and exchanged contact. I was chatting with him through messenger at a particular time, and I was moved to discuss the gospel with him. While charting, I discovered that He had been attending church for over 10 years but didn’t understand his place in Christ. He claims to be born again but still indulges himself in sins. That broke me because it was apparent he had access to the truth but never wanted to take the truth. The testimony of Jesus, which is the gospel we share, is not a mere discussion for us; we must fully come into its reality and adhere to its principles.

One of the core things we must first do is to understand the gospel through God’s word and the Holy Spirit’s help. We were not called to attend church services or hold a particular post in the church. We are not just to answer the title ‘Christians’ alone; the gospel is beyond that; we must repent and accept Jesus. Not only that, but we must live as Christ lived and according to His will per time and move it forward. This is the gospel. Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Prayer:
1. Lord, as I’ve received your saving grace, help me to continue in You.
2. Holy Spirit, please help me to keep my faith and trust in you, Jesus. Amen!
