Waiting Upon the Lord! 2
“Those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isiah 40:31
In the creation, the creator of heaven and earth gives signs of waiting through the alternating day and night and the seasons. This is a sign that provides us with the understanding that there is time for everything. We can do anything if we are willing to wait on God’s Word and his promises for us.
The waiting period is not a denial or rejection period but an opportunity to learn about God’s will and how he wants us to live our lives when the promises are fulfilled. It is a chance to groom you up and to see what God has in store for you. This is an excellent opportunity to be ready for all things while waiting for God’s presence.
Psalm 27:13 says, “Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.”
However, a heart filled with anxiety, doubt, and unbelief cannot wait upon the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord comes with a package of blessings aside from the purpose of waiting upon Him. When you wait upon the Lord, your strength is renewed like the eagles (Isaiah 40:31), shame and disappointments shall be far from you, and you will enjoy the presence and communion with God.
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him: fear not thyself because of him who prospered in his way, because of a man who bringeth wicked devices to pass (Psalm 37:7). Patience, concentration, sensitivity is vital in waiting upon the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord attracts strength and divine presence of God. Psalm 91:2 says, “I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
1. Oh Lord, give me the patient and strength I need to wait upon you in the name of Jesus.
2. Oh Lord, let me not be put to shame in the name of Jesus.
