You Can be Restored! 2

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12

How well do you rely on God for restoration? Do you trust God to bring about restoration? Or do you trust human power to restore you? Remember that a true restoration only comes from God. Humans have no power to restore themselves.

One of the most popular parables of Jesus was the so-called prodigal Son (Luke 15.11-32). Notice, in that chapter, He had talked about a man who lost one sheep, left the 99 to seek for the missing one, found it, and called his friends and neighbor to rejoice with him. He also talked about the woman who lost her coin, sought it, found it, and started a celebration.

Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”

Jesus now concluded His narratives with that of the man and his two children (You should read that story again, it’s always a delight). As the story goes, the younger son came to collect his portion of the inheritance, went away into a far country, and spent his life in riotous living. In today’s parlance, you will say he went into drugs, prostitution, robbery, occultism, and whatever you might think of.

And what happened? He got burnt, the law caught with him, or destroyed his body. All that said, but he never stopped being a son. The moment the son realize how far he was gone, he came to himself and said I would go to my father. Thank God he knew who his father was. Likewise, God is waiting for anyone who has lost their way to come back for restoration. The only thing that matters is your heart. If you are willing to give up your ego, God is willing to say yes to you. Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

1. Oh Lord, I am grateful because I am accepted in your love. Thank you, Father
2. Today, I choose to renew my mind to your love and walk in the light of the same in Jesus’ name. Amen
