You May Not Understand Now! Part Two

“And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

In the grand scheme of life, God’s plan for each individual includes even the smallest details. Once upon a time, there was a king who enjoyed hunting and always took a loyal servant with him. The servant had a habit of reassuring the king that everything God does is perfect. One day, while hunting, a leopard attacked the king and lost a finger. In anger, he questioned the goodness of God, but the servant continued to affirm God’s perfection.

The king decided to imprison the servant in response to his unwavering faith. A few months later, when the king and another servant, however, this seemingly unfortunate event, the king never appreciated God for ultimately saving his life when he was captured by a tribe that required sacrifices with all their fingers intact. It was discovered that the king’s missing finger kept him from being sacrificed. Realizing this divine intervention, the king released the imprisoned servant.

Genesis 50:20 says, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

Upon being freed, the servant explained that if he had not been imprisoned, he would have been sacrificed alongside the king due to having all his fingers. The king recognized that everything had happened for a purpose and laughed at his previous doubts about God’s goodness. So, in times of uncertainty and doubt, let us remember the words of Romans 8:28, which assures us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Let us lean on this promise and trust in God’s divine purpose, knowing He is working all things for our ultimate good.

Even when we cannot see the bigger picture, let us hold on to our faith and recognize that every circumstance has its place in His greater design. Let us pray for strength and wisdom to navigate the challenges with the assurance that He is with us every step. May we find comfort in knowing that our lives are part of a beautiful tapestry woven by our loving Creator. As we surrender ourselves to His will, may we gain a deeper understanding of His unfailing love and unending grace in Jesus’ name. Amen. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints.” Amen.
