You Will Experience Divine Reversal

“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.” Psalm 126:1

When life doesn’t go as planned, it’s easy to get discouraged. We may feel like God has forgotten us or that He is against us. But the truth is, He is always working for our good. In Psalm 126:1-2, we see a picture of God’s actions when His people turn to Him. The Psalmist says, “When the Lord reversed the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.” In other words, when we finally surrender our lives to God and trust Him with our future, it’s as if He has taken us captive and set us free simultaneously.

What a beautiful picture of God’s love for us! He takes our brokenness and uses it for His glory. He turns our sorrow into joy and gives us hope and a future. The turning around of which the Psalmist speaks is a change wrought by God in the lives of those who trust in him. This divine reversal results in the restoration of all that was lost and acquired even more than what was originally had. The circumstances surrounding the individual may have looked bleak, but because of God’s goodness and faithfulness, they have been turned around for their good.

Psalm 53:6 says, “Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! Therefore, when God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, and let Israel be glad.”

The Israelites were once captives in Egypt, but now they are free. They were once in mourning, but now they are full of joy. So likewise, God will reverse your captivity to freedom. He will reverse the unjust decisions made against you. He will set you free from your oppressors. You will be vindicated and compensated for all that you have suffered. Jehovah will turn your mourning into joy, your shame into fame, and your pain into gain. The Lord is a faithful God who keeps His promises. He will not forget the wrongs done to you, and He will make sure that you laugh in success in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Every state of degrading, wretchedness, guiltiness, and helplessness is over in Jesus’ name. Job 42:10 says, “After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his prosperity and doubled his former possessions.” So may the Lord give you the heart to forgive, forget, and love your enemies. God has made you a new creation; you are no longer a slave to fear but a child of God. Everything is turning around for your good. Hold on to Jesus; He is the author and finisher of your faith. Today you may not be qualified, but Jesus says I’m your qualification, Sanctification, and justification. Amen. “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty.” Haggai 2:8.

1. Psalm 123:1; To you, Oh Lord, I lift up my eyes, you who turn captivity into freedom, turn everything around me for my good and your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
