A Prescription for Guaranteed Happiness!

A Prescription for guaranteed Happiness!

“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8

Everyone wants to be happy. It’s a basic human need that we all crave. But unfortunately, happiness doesn’t come easy for everyone. (I prayed, sorrow will not be your portion in Jesus’ name. Amen). In fact, for many, it seems to be nothing more than a fleeting moment that may appear every once in a while. But what if there was a prescription for guaranteed happiness?

God has the answer. In Psalm 1:1-6, we read, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by water streams, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Psalm 40:4 also instructed us, saying, “Blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, who has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.”

This passage tells us who is happy and laughs last and who is not. The blessed person is someone who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. Instead, this person delights in the law of the LORD, meditating on his law day and night. As a result, this person prospers in everything they do. In contrast, the wicked person is like a chaff that the wind blows away. They will not see the justice of the LORD in the land of the living. They may be happy for a moment, but it will not last.

So what can we do to be blessed like the one in Psalm 1? First, we must put God in our lives, delighting in his law and meditating on it day and night. We need to walk in his ways and not the ways of the wicked. As we do, we will find true happiness that lasts. Remember, living a Godly life will surely bring you joy and peace. Proverbs 16:20 says, Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD.”

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me to live according to your will and obey your command in all areas of life.
2. From Isaiah 44:3, I pray, May the Lord pour water on your thirsty land, and streams on your dry ground; May He pour His Spirit upon you and your offspring; and may he grant you a generational blessing in Jesus’ name. Amen.
