Eyes of Faith: Vision Beyond Circumstances!

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

As humans, we often find ourselves in situations that expose us to fear and pressure. These are times when we must dig deep within ourselves for the strength to face these challenges head-on. For believers, one of the most potent sources of our power is our faith in God, which gives us hope and comfort even during trying times. In 2 Kings 6:16, Elisha told his servant to “not be afraid” because “those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” This was a powerful reminder that they were not alone, and their faith in God gave them an advantage.

However, losing sight of this belief can significantly affect our mental state. A mind that has lost faith in God becomes faint under pressure and fear because it lacks a source of hope to draw from during difficult moments. It is a state of mind so weak and hopeless that it makes it almost impossible to find peace. When we lose faith in God, we become paralyzed by doubt and fear. However, until we regain our faith in God, we will never have the strength to stand and witness his power.

1 John 4:4 says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Amid the storm, Elisha was able to see the celestial helper that is needed through faith, but his servant was not able to see anything but the problem. Therefore, the man of faith remained calm amid the storm while the other was in despair. Under similar Elisha and his servant’s circumstances, many people receive different impressions when overwhelmed with the same situation. The event that inspires someone to become a hero makes others feel hopeless and helpless when facing the same thing, all because of faith. Brethren, what do you see in that situation? Do you see yourself as a victim or someone who has victory in Christ Jesus?

Remember, with faith, our vision transcends the boundaries of our circumstances and opens up to a world of endless possibilities and victories. And until we begin to see what God wants us to see, we will never know how much power we have in Christ Jesus. Only through faith can we truly understand the true meaning of our salvation and the power of God’s love. Therefore, seeing ourselves as Christ sees us is important. Amen. 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.” Amen.

Prayer:

  1. Oh Lord, help me to see the truth in your word every time I read it.
  2. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord; I want to see you in all things in Jesus’ name. Amen!
